Political leaders from Meru and Embu counties have publicly thrown their support behind Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, signaling backing for his 2032 presidential bid.
The endorsement comes from key figures, including Meru Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, MPs Mugambi Rindikiri, John Paul Mwirigi, Kirima Ngusine, Meru Woman Rep Karambu Kailemia, and several Embu leaders such as Deputy Governor Kinyua Mugo and Senator Munyi Mundigi.
During a public engagement in Timau Town, Kindiki outlined his political roadmap, stating he will support President William Ruto’s second term before pursuing the presidency in 2032. He also criticized opposition leaders for “constant criticism without delivering tangible results.”
Kindiki’s tour across Mt Kenya has focused on inspecting national government development projects, including roadworks, modern markets, electricity expansion, hospitals, and stadiums. In Meru County, Sh 39.5 billion is allocated to road projects, including 736 kilometers of roads and Sh 3.7 billion for tarmacking Meru Town link roads.
Other major projects highlighted include 17 large-scale modern markets costing Sh 2 billion, over 26,000 new electricity connections, and upgrades to Meru Level 6 Teaching and Referral Hospital. The Timau Affordable Housing Project has provided employment for more than 300 youths.
“Engaging youth in productive work builds a stable and self-reliant society,” Kindiki said. He emphasized that leadership should focus on tangible results rather than empty rhetoric.
