Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has said that the Kenyan government, through the Ministry of Interior and National Administration has the capacity to end the insecurity challenges along the border between Kitui and the neighboring Tana River County and restore peace.
Speaking during a fundraiser at St Martin’s Catholic Church Kwa Mutonga in Kitui West Constituency, Kitui County, Sudi said that if the government was able to curb cattle rustling in the Rift Valley and other parts of Kenya, it was able to end banditry and attacks along the border of Kitui.
The Kapsaret MP made the remarks as a response, after Kitui South MP Rachel Kaki Nyamai and Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya called upon the government to ensure that all those involved in the attacks that left eight people dead, including a 14-year-old child in Mwingi are brought to justice.
They also urged the government to drive out residents living inside wildlife reserves, in an effort to ensure lasting peace.
