Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has defended the 2026/2027 Finance Bill, accusing critics of spreading propaganda without understanding the contents of the proposed law.
Speaking during a “Gumzo Mashinani” meeting with clergy in Busia County, Mbadi urged Kenyans to read and understand the bill before criticizing it, insisting the Kenya Kwanza administration remains focused on stabilizing the economy and improving livelihoods.
Industrialization Principal Secretary Juma Mukhwana echoed the sentiments, warning politicians against misleading the public for political gain.
Mbadi also addressed the ongoing fuel crisis, saying rising fuel prices are part of a global challenge beyond the government’s direct control.
Leaders at the forum called for constructive public debate and urged wananchi to seek factual information before forming opinions on the Finance Bill.
