Police officers in Kikuyu Sub-County have launched investigations into a tragic incident in Zambezi where a mother is suspected of exposing her children to dangerous fumes inside their rented house.
According to preliminary reports, the woman allegedly locked herself and the children inside the house with a jiko after the husband left early in the morning. Two children, aged six and seven, died after suspected carbon monoxide inhalation.
The mother and another child, believed to be a niece, survived and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Kikuyu. Authorities say the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear and investigations are ongoing to establish the motive and sequence of events.
