“We Don’t Have to Kill Children!” Busia MP tells Police Over Fuel demonstration Shootings

Leaders in Busia County are calling for calm and accountability following deadly police shootings in Busia town that left two people dead during recent protests.

Speaking at Busende Secondary School in Matayos Constituency, MP Godfrey Odanga strongly condemned the use of excessive force, urging security agencies to embrace dialogue instead of violence when handling public unrest.

Busia Deputy Governor Arthur Odera also called for a peace forum led by the church to mediate tensions and promote reconciliation in the wake of the killings.

The leaders are now urging restraint, dialogue, and accountability as public anger grows over the incident.
