Communications Authority to Crack Down on Hate Speech Before 2027 Polls

Communications Authority is worried that hate speech remains a serious threat to national unity and urged media organizations to uphold accuracy, fairness and professionalism in their reporting ahead of the polls. Communications Authority Director Ngari Makindu also challenged social media users to use their online platforms responsibly, saying digital spaces should be used to create opportunities, educate others and improve livelihoods rather than spread hatred, misinformation and incitement.
