Western Kenya leaders allied to President William Ruto have condemned rising cases of political violence, accusing some politicians of sponsoring goons to disrupt public meetings before blaming the government.
Speaking during an empowerment forum in Kolongolo, Trans Nzoia County, Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka said political competition should be based on ideas, policies and development rather than intimidation and violence.
Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula also criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta over what he termed growing political instability, while Kiminini MP Kakai Bisau urged residents to support the government’s ongoing development projects.
