Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has dismissed suggestions that the Senate should compensate former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua following a court ruling that found his right to a fair hearing had been violated during the impeachment process.
Speaking in Kapsabet, Cherargei maintained that senators acted within the Constitution when they voted to remove Gachagua from office and insisted that the Senate has no basis to pay compensation.
The senator also took aim at opposition leaders while reaffirming his support for President William Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027.
