KUPPET ISSUES STRIKE THREAT OVER SHA, KNEC PAYMENTS

The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in Murang’a County has threatened industrial action over concerns with the Social Health Authority (SHA) medical scheme and delayed payments by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

The union is demanding a review of the Sh3,000 outpatient cap under the SHA scheme, arguing that it is insufficient to cover the cost of healthcare and is forcing teachers to pay for essential medical services out of pocket.
