Mandera Leaders Condemn Deadly Arabia Attack That Left 6 Dead

Mandera County leaders have condemned a deadly ambush in the Omar Jillo area of Arabia Sub-County that left six people dead and several others injured.

The attack happened on Saturday afternoon when a passenger Nissan vehicle traveling toward Arabia town came under heavy gunfire from suspected armed assailants believed to have been hiding in nearby bushes.

Survivors were rushed to Mandera County Referral Hospital for treatment as security agencies launched operations to pursue the attackers and restore calm in the region.

Speaking after visiting survivors and bereaved families, James Chacha urged residents to remain calm and avoid revenge attacks that could escalate tensions further. Mandera Deputy Governor also assured affected families that the county government would cater for treatment costs of those injured.
