Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has called on the government to comply with a court order halting the construction of a proposed U.S.-funded quarantine facility in Laikipia, citing a lack of public participation and opposition from local citizens. Speaking during the Madaraka Day celebrations, Mutula said the project amounts to a form of neo-colonialism that contradicts the principles and spirit of Madaraka Day, which commemorates Kenya’s self-governance and independence from colonial rule.
