CS Mbadi Launches Major Road Projects in Migori County

Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Economic Planning, Hon. John Mbadi, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing all development projects planned under each financial year’s budget.

Mbadi made the remarks in Awendo during the launch of the Kanyawanga–Dede–Rapogi Road, a 32-kilometre project linking Awendo and Rongo constituencies in Migori County. He said the road will improve connectivity, ease the movement of people and goods, and spur economic growth in the area.

The Cabinet Secretary later toured Nyatike Constituency, where he launched the construction of the Othoo–Got Kachola Road, a vital transport corridor serving fishing communities around Muhuru Bay and the Lake Victoria region.

He noted that the government has allocated funds for several road projects across Migori County and that contractors have already been dispatched to the respective sites.

Mbadi said the ongoing infrastructure investments demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving livelihoods and opening up regions for economic development.

He added that President William Ruto is closely monitoring the implementation of key infrastructure projects to ensure they are completed on schedule and deliver maximum benefits to citizens.

The Cabinet Secretary further emphasized that national development projects are being implemented across all parts of the country, including areas that have historically experienced inadequate investmen
