A section of political leaders has condemned the violent attack on the Linda Mwananchi rally held at Keumbu Market in Nyaribari Chache Constituency, Kisii County.
Several vehicles, including one belonging to former Chief Justice David Maraga, were damaged after a group of suspected goons allegedly pelted the convoy with stones. Journalists covering the event also suffered losses after their equipment was damaged during the chaos.
Speaking after the incident, the leaders accused police officers of failing to intervene despite witnessing the violence. They have called for swift investigations, the arrest of those responsible, and action against security officers they claim failed to protect rally participants.
